For 25+ years Linda Lindquist-Bishop has been immersed in dozens of industries. A native of Chicago with a 10-year stop-over in Manhattan she has held dynamic and diverse career positions including those of marketing executive, sales manager, magazine publisher, sponsorship director, brand manager, sports property president, entrepreneur, strategic consultant, executive coach, speaker and professional athlete.
Grand Prix sailing….
Linda has blazed trails in the all-male world of offshore yacht racing, sailing on over 100 teams in the past 28 years. Most recently winning 2 world championships in 2004 & 2009, she thrives in high-risk, stretch-goal team environments. Making history as a member of America3, the first all-women’s team to compete in the America’s Cup, she simultaneously competed as a team member and co-spearheaded their highly successful sponsorship program bringing several companies into the sports business for the first time. In 1996 as publisher of Yachting Magazine she continued to leverage her grand prix sports success with 15 years of building brands in the luxury goods market to create new business opportunities and aggressive profitable growth.
Awarded Glamour Magazine’s ‘Women of the Year Award’ in ’95 with America3, International Women in Boating ‘Woman of the Year’ in 1996 and the Lifetime Television List of ‘100 Women of the Century’ in ’97 she continues to serve on several boards in women’s sports and non-profits. Working with start-ups to multi national corporations, faith based, education, non-profits, the military and the government gives Linda a very broad perspective on the elements of success in strategy, leadership and communication.
With a BA in Philosophy/Ethics and Religious Studies from the University of Illinois, Champaign, Urbana, she studied additionally with The Landmark Institute and Aspen Institute. She has 4 senior facilitator certifications in the Paterson Processes: LifePlan, Advanced LifePlan, Strategic Operating Plan and Ministry Strategic Operating Continuing to compete successfully in sailing at the international level both on the water and the ice, Linda lives in Leland MI and Seoul Korea with her husband Air Force Major General Brian T. Bishop and their dog Buddy.
